We are always excited to meet new patients! Your first visit begins with a comprehensive oral evaluation. Our team will develop a treatment plan to help you achieve and maintain a healthy smile. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have about treatment options during your visit.
At your first visit, our team will thoroughly evaluate your teeth and gums to assess current oral health and identify any issues. This will include a full set of X-rays (radiographs) and panoramic X-ray. We’ll also take intraoral photographs to ensure we have the most comprehensive view of your oral health.
We will then perform a periodontal assessment to check gum health and spot any early signs of periodontal disease. Additionally, we will screen for any signs or symptoms of oral cancer.
Our standard process is for your hygienist to perform a full professional teeth cleaning at your first appointment as well unless you need a deep cleaning or have active periodontal disease. In either of these cases, we will schedule your regular cleaning for a future date.
We will also discuss your overall oral health in depth. If you have any concerns about your teeth and gums, please tell us. This will help your dentist customize a treatment plan that will meet your specific needs and goals.
Your first appointment is likely to be around 90 minutes. However, you can expect subsequent preventive appointments to last around an hour.
